A typical Sunday at BCCC
At BCCC, we're always excited to welcome new visitors. We hope you'll join us for a service, and we want to make your visit as comfortable as possible. Here's what you can expect when you come.
Our church is located on Lincoln Road, between Hwy. 5 and Hwy. 55 (between the High School and the roundabout). We’re a small brick church that sets back off the road about 100 yards. Since our parking lot is gravel, there are no defined parking spots, so just pick a reasonable spot that is convenient for you. If you have mobility restrictions or young children to carry, it will be best to park where you can access the front door. But, you are always welcome to enter via the back door, as well.
Our meeting times are:
Sunday morning Sunday School @ 10:00 and Worship Service @ 11:00
Sunday evening Bible Study @ 6:00
Wednesday evening Prayer Meeting @ 7:00
Please don't worry about what you'll wear to church. We enjoy a relaxed, comfortable environment. You don’t have to dress up, - but, you can if you want to. Dress however you feel most comfortable. We want you to be able to relax and enjoy the service.
When you walk in, if no greeter is present, feel free to look around and get acquainted with the layout of the building and locate the essential rooms.
-
The restrooms will be on your left as you enter the front foyer.
-
A prayer room with a small library will be on your right. – If the door is open, feel free to go in and browse the books on the shelf.
-
The sanctuary is through the double doors, - and they are typically always open.
-
The nursery is located in the fellowship hall at the back of the building, beyond the sanctuary. – Please let us know if you will need childcare.
-
The kitchen is also at the back of the church. – We always have some coffee and water available.
Our Sunday School time generally wraps-up at 10:45. If you arrive and the sanctuary is empty, - that only means we haven’t gotten there yet. Please feel free to look around, - and, grab a bulletin and any other literature found on the table at the back of the sanctuary. Then, whenever you’re ready, have a seat wherever you feel most comfortable.
Of course, though, be expecting that you will be noticed and welcomed, at some point. Our church isn’t big enough for you to not be noticed. But, we hope to make you feel at home and at ease. .. Don’t be surprised to receive some hugs in addition to warm handshakes. We are a pretty friendly bunch.
For the morning service, children stay in the sanctuary for the Praise & Worship time, - then are dismissed for Children’s Church. Nursery childcare can be provided as needed, though.
For our Praise & Worship, we incorporate hymns, familiar choruses, and contemporary songs. We currently use accompaniment tracks, - but, would welcome (and, are praying for) a praise band. However, we want the focus of our praises and our worship to be the One who sits on the throne, and not how we are ushered in before the throne.
In our teaching time, a portion of scripture is read verse-by-verse, consecutively each week, until a complete book of the Bible has been studied. Our pastor is very thorough in explaining the scriptures, relating them to other portions of scripture, and giving us practical ways to apply the scriptures to daily living. .. We encourage you to bring your Bible so you can read along.
After the service, feel free to stay for a cup of coffee or a bottle of water, so that we can get to know one another a little. We usually all migrate to the fellowship hall where Children’s Church is wrapping up. There’s usually a goodie of some kind that we can partake of to help get us to meal time.
Our morning service typically concludes at 12:00. On occasion, the service may extend an additional five or ten minutes if necessary to complete a study or to observe Communion.
We observe Communion the first Sunday of every month immediately following the teaching time. The children usually rejoin us in the sanctuary to partake also.
We hope that we have answered any question that you might have. But, if not, please contact us. And, of course, if any questions arise during your visit, please feel free to ask.
We look forward to meeting you!
